After the post about closure of GeoCities, I started to wonder…
Are there any sites that were built way back that are still available? I found the answer in an unlikely place – the Telegraph.co.uk. You can read the full article but to give you a flavour I have posted some right here!

My favourite has to be nytimes.com in 1996 (http://web.archive.org/web/19961112181513/http://www.nytimes.com/),which suggests you resize your browser window to view the website properly!
So *that’s* why we have web standards.
P.S. It’s “Wayback machine”, not “Wayback when machine”. Tut tut.
