Software Training

The value of training

Everyone knows that there is a direct relationship between training and business performance. True learning occurs when learners have the opportunity to practice their new skills provided by Save9, gaining real experience before applying them in real business situations.

Training delivery

There are many ways in which Save9 delivers training, but they can be split into Instructor Lead Training or Self Study Training (also known as Home Study). Self Study once meant working through large books, possibly with audio cassettes or videos. Often very dull, these courses required considerable effort and self-discipline. With the advent of Computer Based Training (CBT) and Internet Based Training (IBT or E-learning) a total transformation has occurred.

Computer based training (CBT)

Learners can now enjoy fully interactive multi-media rich experiences. CBT courses from Save9 run on Windows and Macintosh computers enabling professionals to learn exactly what they need, when they need it and where they choose.

FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) survey

One of the largest non-governmental surveys of the business sector 'Barriers to growth in the UK' was launched by the Federation of Small Businesses in 2002. The survey results of 18,561 UK companies showed the highest uptake of training was reported by firms where turnover increased considerably in the past year (73 per cent), whereas turnover clearly decreased in most firms surveyed where there had been little or no training.

Learning principles and facts

People will learn faster and better when they:-

  1. Want to learn
  2. Know why it is important to learn
  3. Believe what they learn will help them
  4. Are free from too much pressure to learn
  5. Feel able to learn what is expected of them
  6. Learn by doing the task
  7. Practice what they have learned
  8. Are given feedback about their progress
  9. Are praised for what they do right
Save9 training adheres to the 'EDIP' principle of learning (Explanation, Demonstration, Imitation & Practice). All learners participating in a Save9 software course acquire experience in handling real situations.

Learn without fear

CBT courses can simulate software suites such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access - providing a safe controlled environment in which learners can practice without fear of making a mistake.

E-learning (CBT over the Internet) assists the learner to achieve high performance with the very latest software versions. Online feedback reinforces the right skills and allows the learner to progress at a pace that suites them.
